Another string to our bow!

We are delighted to announce the new addition of our 3 axis CNC pressbrake!

To compliment our plasma cutting service, we can now offer bending of our profiled components. With our automated pressbrake, complex bending operations can be carried out with accurate repeatability. We have tooling that supports bending a range of material thicknesses.

Here is a small production run of some channel profiles, produced entirely in house:

Fine cutting

Here is a sample of a small production run of some fine strengthening gussets. There are 100 parts approx. 40mm long, cut from 3mm mild steel using our in house cnc plasma.

Skeletastic

We have been working on a cool project recently.... a animatronic skeleton!!

This was a really exciting job with the opportunity to have loads of fun playing around with the mechanisms and controls.

The skeleton features moving head, mouth, upper arm, lower arm and leg, as well as looking crazy as hell!

Here is a look at some of the construction:

New look for the company vehicle

Our workshop is tucked up a quiet little corner so there is no passing trade to speak of. With the addition of the sign writing to our van, we hope to allow people to become familiar with our name and what we do.

Bit of OCD creeping in..... I have a habit of arranging parts neatly in patterns, it all adds to the satisfaction at the end of the day :) These are a run of round poles that needed a 45 degree bend part of the way up, holes at the top of the poles also complicated the procedure, but a little creative jiggery pokery sorted the job out nicely!

Just a brief post of a clip showing our cnc plasma cutter in action.  The video shows the start of a mesh pattern being cut to form a part for a customer. This particular part contained 50 cut outs and was designed, programmed and profiled within 1 hour.

Here are a selection of the completed parts:

Completed assembly looked like this:

Welcome

This is the new amh fabs blog space. We will use this "mini site" if you like as a more informal place to document what we do. The main site www.amhfabs.co.uk is now live and kicking after many late evenings of designing. Anyway, hope you enjoy both sites and be sure to check back to see what exciting things we are up to.
